It has been a few weeks now that daily life as we know it has been interrupted in all aspects. We are no longer able to get together with friends and family, attend entertainment or sporting events, meet in worship services, or have in-person visits with many of our medical providers.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has proven to be fast moving, and deadly; changing how we go about all of the tasks that we once took for granted such as grocery shopping and seeing medical professionals.
In an effort to provide continuity of care, many healthcare providers are turning to virtual or on-line appointments. There is much research and evidence that telemedicine is as effective as in person visits for many areas of health including speech language pathology services.
Renew Speech Language Pathology is pleased to offer teletherapy sessions through a secure, online platform. It is easy to access from a desk top computer, laptop, iPad/tablet, or smartphone. Therapy will work on all of the exercises needed to meet your speech-language pathology goals.
At this time, Medicare is allowing its beneficiaries to participate in teletherapy speech language pathology services, however, it is self pay. Medicare will NOT pay for teletherapy services currently. It is hoped that this will change soon, and this message will be updated when that occurs!
